Maha Shivratri 2018

Maha Shivratri is an annual festival dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, and is particularly important in the Shaivism tradition of Hinduism ... offerings of fruits, leaves, sweets and milk to Shiva are made, some perform all-day fasting with vedic or worship of Shiva, and some perform meditative Yoga.

As per the Hindu calendar, Shivratri is celebrated on the new moon day in the month of Maagha. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the festival owes its origins to several versions, one of them being a celebration of Shiva and Parvati's marriage to each other.

Maha Shivratri will be celebrated on Thursday 15th February 2018. Day Centre devotees will get a chance to sing Bhajans and Dhuns, followed by Shiv Thal and Arti.
